Wyebrook Farm Hosts Its First-Ever Bluegrass Festival On Saturday, April 26 With Live Music, Farm-Fresh Fare, Hayrides And More

Looking for a quick country getaway? Look no further.

The green fields of Chester County's gorgeous Wyebrook Farm welcome one and all to the first Wyebrook Farm Bluegrass Festival on Saturday, April 26.

Wyebrook, an eco-friendly and sustainable 355-acre farm, is located about 45 minutes from downtown Philadelphia, but feels worlds away. Formerly a bond trader, Wyebrook Farm owner Dean Carlson finds his passion in grassroots agriculture and has made it his mission to give his community a personal connection to their food.

The farm always welcomes guests to tour the land, see the animals, learn about the farming practices, and shop and eat the high-quality products of the farm, but come Saturday, April 26, Farmer Carlson kicks up the countryside and hosts his first day-long music festival.

From noon to 7 p.m., a lineup of four bluegrass bands will play high-energy tunes alfresco on a pop-up stage on the lawn just outside of The Cafe at Wyebrook Farm, culminating in a performance from International Bluegrass Music Hall of Honor inductee Jesse McReynolds.

The music starts at 1 p.m. with hour-long sets from Dave Kline & The Mountain Folk Band, Travis Wetzel Trio and Frog Holler Bluegrass Band. At 4 p.m., strumming star Jesse McReynolds plays a bluegrass-music set, followed by a Grateful Dead-cover song set at 6 p.m. to wrap up the fest.

Saturday's festival also serves to kickoff the spring season of The Cafe at Wyebrook Farm, and a seasonal spread of barbecue, burgers and more featuring Wyebrook poultry, pork and beef alongside other area farmers' cheeses and produce will be available on a pay-as-you-go basis.

Note that the entire festival is BYOB, allowing guests to bring their own wine or beer to pair with the food and non-alcoholic beverages available for purchase on-site.

In addition to the live tunes and great food on Saturday, Wyebrook's bucolic pastures will be open throughout the day for exploration on foot or via guided hayride tours.

Tickets for the day-long festival are available online for $35 in advance, and are $40 at the door.
